An estimated 905,000 Rohingya refugees currently reside in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh, over 700,000 of whom fled extreme violence in Myanmar in late 2017. NRC has been present in Bangladesh since 2016, working through partnerships with local NGO`s. Alongside our partners, we provide assistance to refugees and local communities through Education, Shelter and WASH programming and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) activities.
Our Ideal Candidate: The purpose of the Casual Logistics Assistant position is the day-to-day implementation of logistics functions in Cox`s Bazar for the Norwegian Refugee Council, in an effective and accountable manner. The Logistics Assistant will be supporting multiple activities including fleet, warehousing & asset management, and facilities & maintenance.
Contract period: 04 months
Duty Station: Cox`s Bazar (flexibility to travel)
Job Responsibilities
Support to line manager in cash and low-value procurements, documentation and filling the procurement files.
Collect the supplier’s delivery challan and invoice and submit the payment request to finance.
Organize NRC fleet duty and schedule every week (car allocation for Cox’s Bazar staff) – including tracking of vehicle movements and briefing and following the daily regular and irregular movement
Prepare monthly reports on fuel consumption, driver’s overtime, and use of vehicles.
Regularly inspect vehicles to ensure that all are in good working order and equipped according to NRC policy
Support to line manager in Asset and Inventory Management as per NRCs policies and procedures.
Regular physical check of all the asset and inventory items. Liaising with procurement for repair or replacements where necessary
Stock management paperwork is accurately completed and filed, and support to prepare the monthly stock reports are produced and shared
Collect the ordered items from the suppliers and ensure all following documents are in place (Goods Receiving Note (GRN), Work Certificate, receipts/invoices, etc.)
Regular stock counts and update the warehouse documents regularly
Regular inspection of all NRC facilities, liaising with landlord or procurement department to facilitate maintenance work required and ensures that it is completed in a timely manner
Any other tasks assigned by line manager.

Bachelors/equivalent degree in relevant fields
Additional Requirements
Experience of working as a Logistics Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
Good level of English, written and spoken, mandatory
Fluent in Bangla mandatory
Knowledge of logistics capacities (procurement, warehousing, road access, etc.) preferred
