Job Responsibilities

• Detailed knowledge of Substation construction and commissioning
• Advanced knowledge of Substation Infrastructure Engineering (i.e. substation configuration, earthing, insulation coordination, lightning design, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Primary plant, Protection & Automation and Telecommunication Engineering
• Working knowledge of commercial / contracting requirements
• Significant experience in HV substation engineering environment – including project scope and specification development
• Significant experience successfully delivering engineering outcomes using project
• management tools, systems and processes
• Well-developed analytical, investigation and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to produce the high quality engineering reports
• Advanced knowledge and experience in use of Microsoft Office suite of products
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills including the ability to build collaborative and productive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and constructively challenge the status quo
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
• Demonstrated ability to act decisively and initiate timely action to overcome difficult problems.
• Capable of working under pressure to meet project deadlines;
• Strong knowledge of HV, substation and transmission performance and operation, National Electricity Rules, Transmission Codes and relevant standards (desirable).
