Job Context

  • Since 1986 TAI has been closing the gap between problems and solutions. TAI has completed 70 successful projects to serve the development process around 13 countries in Africa and Asia in the domains of HIV-AIDS, Family Planning, Humanitarian AID, Protection, and Education. In Bangladesh, TAI supported the development of the rural areas through direct LIP (Local Initiatives Program), and since 2006 supporting the Refugees/FDMNs community through implementing different programs and projects. TAI is announcing the recruitment advertisement for an up-coming project in the Refugee/FDMN Camps and Host communities in Cox`s Bazar.
  • Selection Criteria: Experience of working in collecting data from the field using survey CTO, KOBO or similar data collection software in Cox`s Bazar (Rohingya/ Host community).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla
  • Excellent communication skills in Chittagonian dialect.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and willingness to work in Rohingya response is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities: The Enumerator will be responsible for the following tasks
  • Conducting data collection by using the provided data collection tools.
  • Conducting household surveys.
  • Taking interview the identified beneficiaries of the project within the project area.
  • Documenting all the findings in the provided data collection tools.
  • Ensuring collected data is accurately recorded.
  • Ensuring respondents’ anonymity and develop a relationship of trust and safe space During data collection exercise with respondents.
  • Identify and report any challenges that could affect the data quality.
  • Take responsibility for project equipment that you may be entrusted with.
  • Any additional survey-related tasks delegated by the TAI management.
  • Reporting: Submit the data to the server at the end of each day.
  • Report to the supervisor before and after the day’s work for further direction.
  • Discuss with the supervisor the data collection target and achievement for the day.

  • Confidentiality.
  • Line Management: The Enumerator /Supervisor/Back-checker will report to and operate under the guidance of the Field Manager.

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in any Discipline.

Additional Requirements

  • Attention to the details of the data collection processes.
  • Ability to work independently and confidence to visit households inside the camps and Host communities.
  • Computer literacy to be able to work on Tablet-based data collection applications.
  • Good facilitation skills.
  • Good communication skills and experience in participatory methodology.
  • Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Dedicated to completing each day’s work and target assigned by the supervisors.
  • Time management skills.
  • Positive attitudes and willingness to learn.
