Job Context

  • NESL now invites applications from competent candidates for the post of Fluids and Waste Management Specialist for employment with our prospective clients working in oil and gas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strong liaison of Company Drilling Team Objectives woven through all aspects of Fluids, Solids Control, Waste Management, and Service Personnel involved to deliver a successful well bore for the project.
  • Broad knowledge of various drilling and completion fluids, including emulsion related problems, gas hydrates, dual gradient drilling, equipment, calculations, return permeability studies, completions methodologies.
  • Fluids Advisor will answer mainly to the Company Drilling Supt in the office and Company DSM on location, but will work closely and also answer to Company Drilling and Completion Engineers when required.
  • Develop effective Drilling, Completion and Waste Management Fluids Programs that achieve the objectives of the drilling projects.
  • Advise, coordinate, and lead the implementation of drilling / completion fluids and all related equipment and personnel in accordance to contractual excellence.
  • Oversee and guide fluids logistics, LMP, trucks, boats, barges in accordance with the objectives of the drilling and completions teams.
  • Direct the handling of scheduled waste generated from fluids activities, as well as oversee the testing of fluids to be discharged.
  • Strong capability to promote safety in all fluids related operations and work closely with HSE advisors and their guidelines.
  • Mentor Company and Service Personnel on fluids related topics as required on location or in the office.
  • Manage drilling fluids related costs, reporting, tracking, proactive testing, contribute to lessons learned and service quality meetings (SQM).
  • Coordinate with other Company project personnel such as Geologists, QAQC, HSE, Completions, as required.
  • High level of understanding diversity, multicultural respect, compassion and communications across all crew and management levels from location, warehouses, logistics, to Company main drilling office.

  • University Degree, Mud School, industry courses to enhance contractor knowledge and value to Company.

Experience Requirements

  • 15 to 20 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • Fifteen plus years requisite experience in supervising Drilling Fluid Engineers, Solids Control Hands and Waste Management. Extreme knowledge in working issues related to drilling fluids, solids control and particularly waste management in remote locations.
  • It is required that Contractor has worked in a remote land project and can show value add.
  • Strong communications, strong waste management, solids control including concepts and drilling fluids. Ability to work with everyone involved in the project.
