Job Context

  • This position shall be based in Head Office, Dhaka and will report to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Human Resources Director.
  • The job is open for both Bangladeshi and expatriates.

Job Responsibilities

  • This is a leadership role of the company and shall take part of the country strategic HR matters. The main role of this position is to manage employees (expats, management and non-management staff) and ensure that the human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business strategies and create best organizational culture.
  • This role include manpower planning and forecasting, employee grievances and disputes, employee training & development, enhancing job satisfaction, designing talent management procedures, implementing HR strategies that support business objectives, diversity & inclusion, change management, structuring benefit packages, managing budgets.
  • Organization Development: The person shall develop and implement HR policies and practices with a clear objective to foster productivity and build an effective & successful workforce supporting strategic objectives of the company. S/he shall design and implement appropriate C&B structures, right reward & recognition schemes by aligning with best organizations practice that encourage and motivate good performers. The person shall drive and provide guidance on effective implementation of HR Process on talent management, digitization (HRIS) people development, employee engagement, career and succession planning etc. S/he shall lead the annual performance evaluation. S/he shall also act as the principal contact with regional HR team in matters related to international mobilization, diversity and inclusion, and corporate reporting and change management initiatives.
  • Employee Engagement: The person shall develop and ensure implementation of strategic recruitment and selection process for quality and right resources at right place on present and new organization. The person shall reinforce the skill & leadership profile of key managers of each function and develop succession plan maintaining diversity and inclusion and overall organizational strategy. The person shall advise management rightly on complex issues relating to areas of industrial & employee relations (ER/IR). This shall include negotiating and managing with union or CBA with their proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances. The person shall also advise and train managers and supervisors in best employee relation practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances.
  • Training & Capability Building: The person shall analyze and guide for preparing annual training development plan & calendar for all employees, based on their business needs and IDPs. S/he shall track and monitor the training calendar, draw resources from the group, region or external environment to support the training and development needs. S/he shall be able to understand the business operation and decision-making processes with a profound interest in producing targeted and concrete results by creating an effective and competent workforce.
  • Talent Acquisition: The person shall be responsible for filling positions in the company by sourcing sustainable candidates and assessing their suitability to the company. Additionally the person has to lead the talent acquisition function and help the organization hire top talent in a timely, proficient and cost-effective manner while upholding diverse and inclusive hiring practice.
  • Performance Management System: The responsible person shall be responsible for the plan the performance management strategy and total rewards philosophy to attract and retain talent. S/he shall set the performance review cycles and key performance indicators. Furthermore will integrate Skills Frameworks into the performance management framework and total rewards philosophy of the organization.

Educational Requirements

  • Graduate in any discipline from reputed university/institute.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in HR/PM or any professional certification will be preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in HR function in the reputed organization in building material industry.
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in Senior Leadership or HR Head role.
