Job Responsibilities

• Formulate / develop policy based on Islamic Shariah for the Bank.
• Design & introduce Islamic banking products for the Bank.
• Create, improve, implement and enforce policies and procedures based on Shariah that will improve operational and financial effectiveness of the Bank.
• Framing of Islamic Banking rules and regulations and ensuring their implementations.
• Assist the Management for smooth functioning of Islamic banking Operation of the Bank.
• Organize and conduct the meetings of Shariah Committee of the bank.
• Conduct regular Shariah audit and inspection in different divisions, departments and branches of the bank as per pre-approved plan and emergency requirement.
• Maintain liaison with the members of Shari’ah Supervisory Committee of the Islamic Banks operating in the country from time to time for smooth implementation of Shariah Principles.
• Prepare the plan of works of the Shariah Secretariat Division
• Prepare all sorts of Office Notes, Shariah Memos, Board Memos, writing minutes etc.
• Prepare all sorts of manuals, leaflets, write-ups etc.
• Develop Shari’ah compliant new products as per need of the bank and clients.
• Communicate with the branch about shariah related issues.
• Any other responsibilities as and when required by the Management of the Bank.

Educational Requirements

• Master degree in any discipline from a reputed university having no Third Class/ Division/ Equivalent GPA/CGPA in the Academic records.

Experience Requirements

• At least 16 year(s)

Additional Requirements

• At least 16(sixteen) years of banking experience in any Islamic Shariah based scheduled Bank.
• Strong analytical and Decision making skill with clear understanding of Islamic Shariah, Fiqh, etc.
• Sound experience to introduce Islamic Banking Products
• Well conversant with Bank Companies Act, Bangladesh Bank’s guidelines and circulars, Artha rin Adalat Act 2003, Negotiable Instrument Act 1881etc.
• Profound knowledge of General Banking & Credit, Foreign Exchange, AML etc.
• Capable of critical thinking and analysis
• Tenacity & ethics
• Technology proficient (ability to lean new software)
• Effective planning and time management
