Job Responsibilities

  • Must be Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food preparation, hygiene, and safety, food handling procedures, and following written instructions.
  • Must be able to read and understand in English and Bengali.
  • Set up station according to restaurant guidelines.
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
  • Restock all items as needed throughout the shift.
  • Clean and maintain station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
  • Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.
  • Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Head Chef, Sous Chef or Floor Manager at any time.
  • To appropriately delegate and assist in all tasks delegated within the section
  • To accurately carry out instructions received by line manager during service
  • To accurately and calmly give instructions to junior staff during service and assist if necessary in the completion of the instructions
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized.
  • Should be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 kgs.

Educational Requirements

  • Diploma in hotel/restaurant management is desirable. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 2 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • Age 18 to 35 years
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working within a high volume fine dining establishment as Line Chef or Cook
  • Females are preferred allowed to apply
  • Demonstrate good knife skills
  • Show interest and knowledge of flavor and food products
  • Show good practice in working hygienically around food
  • Attention to detail.
  • Possess basic math skills
