The RSC Occupational Safety and Health Complaints Mechanism Specialist (OSHCMS) serves as a part of the RSC Complaints Department in the RSC office in Bangladesh. The RSC Occupational Safety and Health Complaints Mechanism Specialist reports directly to the Head of Workplace Programs under the supervision of the Managing Director.
The OSHCMS shall be based in the RSC office in Dhaka. S/he will work in line with company policies and strategic plans for the RSC to become a world class platform for workplace safety. S/he will assist the Head of Workplace Programs and Managing Director to implement the strategic plans, day-to-day operations of the department, maintain best practice and regular reporting and data management.

Job Responsibilities
The RSC Occupational Safety and Health Complaints Mechanism Specialist (OSHCMS) will:
Manage a portfolio of complaints
Process complaints in accordance with established RSC protocols
Conduct investigations into allegations
Draft notifications in English to parties at different stages of the complaint process
Maintain the RSC safety and health complaints mechanism information systems/related databases
Prepare complaints reports monthly or as required
Liaise with other RSC departments, to ensure timely reporting of all relevant data pursuant to the effective operation of the safety and health complaints process
Organise meetings with the parties
Write complaint summaries and Minutes of meetings
Maintain timely and accurate internal reporting on complaints
Visit factories, as required
Alert RSC Management to any problems or challenges that arise
Perform related duties as assigned by the Managing Director or Head of Workplace Programs

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree, including from a labour law or other law discipline, with practical experience
Experience Requirements
2 to 3 year(s)
Additional Requirements
The ideal candidates will have at least 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in the RMG sector, preferably in the area of safety and health or compliance related issues, and/or relevant legal/complaint handling experience. Good organizational skills are required, as is the ability to work under often stressful conditions. Candidates from the industry and labour side are encouraged to apply. The successful Complaint Specialist candidates require the following:
Excellent written and spoken English
Native fluency in written and spoken Bangla
Knowledge of the Bangladesh Labour Act
Ability to synthesise information
Experience of working on issues related to safety and health/labour law/workers’ rights/human rights/industrial relations
High level of attention to detail
Experience of conducting research/interviews
Strong organizational skills
Experience/knowledge of grievance mechanisms
Ability to prioritise and multi-task
Experience of developing/using databases or other information management systems
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
