Job Context

The Pattern Maker will be actively involved in the preparation of patterns and development of samples and also ensure that approval is obtained for the technical parameters of bulk production, so as to proceed as per customer specifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Examine sketches, sample articles, and design specifications to determine quantities, shapes, and sizes of pattern parts, and to determine the amount of material or fabric required to make a product.
• Create patterns in Optitex CAD software as per Buyer Specification and Design requirement
• Create pattern from which to mass-produce a design concept
• Execute Size Grading, Marker and Consumptions with best efficiency
• Guide the sample makers to adhere to the technical specifications whilst sewing
• Provide instructions to factories on pattern making/ grading, garment construction and sewing operations and find alternatives
• Check the conformity (construction, style, fitting, specification, etc.)
• Monitor fit, measurements and workmanship according to the customer requirements, from Development to Production
• Evaluate the sample for fit, proportion, silhouette, seam positions and other design features and subsequently make the necessary rectifications whilst consulting the sample room manager in the event of complications

• Graduate in Textile Manufacturing from a well reputed institute

Experience Requirements

• At least 5 year(s)

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Pattern Maker for Outerwear Jacket items in a reputed Buying Office or Factory
• Must have experience in using Optitex software for 2D pattern making
• Must have good knowledge of general measurement specs and shrinkage allowance
• The applicants should have experience in the following areas: Woven and Knit, Costing & Production Marker
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team
• Should be well-groomed, smart and energetic
• Strong presentation and delivery skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
• Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
• IT proficiency – advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
• Ability to multi task and remain organized, meet deadlines
