Job Context

Mercury IT International Limited is a USA-based software company, a sister concern of Veradigm/Allscripts (https://veradigm.com). As the Senior Architect, you will serve as a technical thought leader and SME for our cloud ecosystem. You will plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure cloud IaaS and PaaS solutions. You will apply your expertise in Microsoft cloud offerings to promote innovative solutions. This is a highly visible, major strategic initiative for Payer as we look to pay down technical debt, automate manual processes, and scale to meet customer demand across our suite of products.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of enterprise-scale Azure solutions.
• Lead technical discussions with other technical leaders at Payer that drive decisions and implementation approaches.
• Review and manage technical, business, and operational requirements.
• Develop reference architectures with Microsoft Azure to meet our technical, security, and business needs.
• Execute plans to deploy Azure infrastructure and move workloads to Azure.
• Development and technology planning – provide guidance in best practice and tool use in the design and build of technical frameworks and the applications built on them
• Architecture and design -propose technical solutions, ensure their integrity, and that the solutions can be built, implemented, and maintained within timelines/budgets
• Technical design authority – internally and externally recognized as a specialist on complex technical areas, will drive benchmarking, installation, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and testing activity.
• Improve quality – identify innovative approaches to improve software quality
• Provide stability – ensure development teams can develop in a stable and productive environment, with minimal rework required due to of architectural change or problems as products evolve
• Industry knowledge – familiar with industry changes in technology standards, information management, development standards, methods, and emerging 3rd party software in order to advise on technology and leverage industry best practices in the design and construction of Allscripts’ software products
• Experience in cloud architectures, including web, application, and database components. (Microsoft Azure)
• Experience automating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GIT.
• Experience with Azure Governance, Security and Compliance and Best Practices.
• Understanding of SOLID design principles.
• Experience implementing Object Oriented Design Patterns in C#.
• Advanced level Experience in these technologies is a must – ASP.Net MVC, ASP.Net Web API, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, Angular, WebSocket (SignalR), SQL Server, and Async programming.
• Must have hands-on experience in Architectural Design Patterns.
• Must have first-hand experience in applying DDD patterns and dissecting the main domain into subdomains, and building microservices.
• Automated Testing experience using XUNIT or similar unit testing framework.
• Strong project management experience.
• Demonstrable detailed understanding of architecture principles and methods, technology, and standards.
• Proven record of driving technology best practices in a matrix-managed, diverse, globally located organization.
• Passionate about using technology to create business value.
• Highly motivated, self-taught, and widely recognized as a technology expert.

Additional Requirements

• Age at least 32 years
• Azure Databricks/Delta Lake experience.
• Database development using SQL Server.
• Experience developing dashboards in Power BI.
• Experience developing Data Warehouses/Marts in Snowflake.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, including configuration management and infrastructure provisioning (ARM Templates or Terraform).
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell / CLI) for deployment and management on Azure.
• 10+ years relevant work experience; 2-3 years at the Expert level or equivalent experience
• Upwards of 5 years of practical experience designing and building enterprise or distributed software systems.
