Job Context

We are looking for a strong candidate to fill the post of Sub-Editor, International Desk. The applicant should have sharp news sense and the ability to find and analyse data.

Job Responsibilities

• Making & editing International News.
• Monitoring News Media
• Write, edit, manage and delegate items for news portal.
• Complete assigned works
• Flexibility to adjust in different work environment.
• Edit copy, written by reporters or features writers, to remove spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
• Rewriting material so that it flows or reads better and adheres to the house style.
• Write headlines, picture captions and story summaries.
• Check facts and stories to ensure they are accurate, adhere to copyright laws, are not libelous or go against the publication’s policy.
• Follow the Code of Conduct of Newsroom.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mass Communication Journalism, Master of Arts (MA) in Any field
• BA/ MA (English, International Relation preferable)

Experience Requirements

• 1 to 2 year(s)
• The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
  Desk Reporter, News Reporter, Translation
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  Newspaper/Magazine, Online Newspaper/ News Portal
• Freshers are also encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements

• Age 25 to 30 years
• Both males and females are allowed to apply
• Must be a quick learner.
• Fast in Typing (Bengali & English)
• Punctual about time.
• Ability to translate
• Work under Pressure and Ability to maintain deadline.
• Expertness on using technology such as internet browsing, smartphone, email, Microsoft office package.
• The candidate must have proficiency in both the language Bengali and English.
• The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
• Copy writing/ Script Writing, News editor, SEO Writing
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
• Newspaper/Magazine, Online Newspaper/ News Portal
• Must have experience in graphics and social media
• Must have experience in online journalism
