Job Context

  • Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 283 upazilas under 49 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
  • Eco Social Development Organization (ESDO) is a well reputed National NGO founded in 1988 and working in 49 Districts of Bangladesh. ESDO in Partnership with Plan International Bangladesh is implementing the Sponsorship Programme in Nilphamari and Lamonirhat district.
  • Job Summary: Ensure an appropriate monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system is in place and is functioning satisfactorily. Periodically review and revise the system so that it is adapted appropriately to changing operating contexts. Ensure relevant and timely M&E information is provided in user-friendly formats to key stakeholders, including beneficiary communities, ESDO senior management and donors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate all project activities and progress towards achieving the project overall progress on achievement of results;
  • Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success;
  • Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities and submit to the Project Manager;
  • Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system and develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the project;
  • Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to Project Management Team and ESDO;
  • Assist in coordinating across the available components of the Project to ensure effective implementation of M&E/MIS;
  • Preparation of quarterly MIS reports;
  • Organize and conduct training on M&E/MIS for project
  • Assist Project Manager in the preparation of reports on the findings and lessons learned from project innovations;
  • Prepare Issues Log and Risk Log for the project;
  • Develop M&E system for the Project and for the government counterpart/stakeholders;
  • In-depth knowledge on Management and Learning, MIS, M&E and development issues
  • Excellent knowledge of monitoring and the application of methodology: Good understanding of capacity assessment methodologies; excellent ability to identify significant capacity building opportunities;
  • Prepare and maintain data base, online/offline data collection, data analyze and reporting

Additional Requirements

  • Age 30 to 45 years
  • Both males and females are allowed to apply
  • Age limit 30-45 Years but relax for highly competent candidates.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E/MIS in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs/UN bodies/ Government;
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
  • Should have strong skill on writing case story and qualitative report on development programmes
  • Proven ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database software
  • Expertise in data collection, data analyzing, data using both online software and off line;
  • Strong training & facilitation skills.
  • Language Requirements:Fluency in written and spoken Bangla and English
