Job Context

    BRAC is implementing a 3-year long project titled“ AGNEE- Awareness, Action, and Advocacy for Gender-equal and Safe Spaces for Women and Girls“ funded by the EU. The overall objective of this project is to contribute to protection and promotion of women and girls’ enjoyment of human rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of women and girls by promoting sexual harassment (SH) and violence-free public spaces, workplaces and digital platforms. The specific result areas of this project are: Enhanced capacity of CSOs to act as a focal to address SH and GBV in work & public places including digital space; increased community awareness and increased linkages with support services strengthens access to services; strengthened SH & GBV mechanism at workplaces & public places contributes to harassment & violence free environment for women; and strengthened SH & GBV mechanism at workplaces & public places contributes to harassment & violence free environment for women. The project will be implemented in Rajshahi district through a partnership with Ain O Shalish Kendra (ASK).

Job Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct district level planning, budgeting and monitoring
  • Ensure timely and quality implementation of all activities as per activity plan
  • Plan and ensure orientation, meeting, training, workshop, refreshers
  • Assist to conduct baseline, end line and assessment survey for GBV protection
  • Data collection for service mapping and periodic update of service mapping for the Survivor of violence
  • Conduct awareness sessions on GBV and Sexual harassment with different target groups
  • Ensure immediate reporting of GBV incidents, connecting with relevant service providers and ensure case management support by maintaining coordination with CSOs and panel lawyers
  • Facilitate the formation of Sexual Harassment Redress Committee (SHRC) at Educational Institute (EI’s)
  • Arrange Civil Service Organization (CSO) training on SH (physical, verbal, psychological and cyber) and violence at public spaces, workplaces and digital platforms.
  • Conduct orientation and awareness sessions with factory management and school management
  • Prepare monthly MIS and other necessary reports and ensure that all required documentation are maintained at project office.
  • Coordinate with partner organisation for field level activities.
  • Liaison with officials at district and upazila level; i.e, DC, DLAC, DWO, DEO, UNO, Upazila Education Officer, Local influential Community leader, UP Chairman, school management committee, teachers, leaders of local NGO/CBOs.
  • Maintain communication with Head Office for smooth coordination and implementation
  • Follow up programme activities for ensuring quality of interventions
  • Other necessary tasks assigned by the supervisor/management.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements

  • Masters in any discipline. (Preferably in Social Science/Development Studies/HRM)

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
    Gender Equality Interventions, Safeguarding

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 25 years
  • Concept on prevention of sexual harassment
  • Gender based violence and cyber violence
  • Basic legal knowledge on women rights
  • Effectively implementation of project activities
  • Capacity building of beneficiaries e.g. teachers, SMC, CSO, transport members etc.
  • Facilitation (meeting, field level workshop as well as training sessions)
  • Flexible, pragmatic and solution oriented
  • Negotiation and convincing
  • Computer proficiency specially MS Office and Internet browsing
