Anando (Promotion of Culture and Youth Resource Development) is a non-government, non-political and non-profitable national organization, established in 1997 and its mission is to strive for culture of development and peace through integrated development approach, which enables individuals and communities to become self-reliant. Anando is inviting application for the project of Cox`s Bazar financial supported by Welthungerhilfe – Germany for the following position.
Preparedness and response support in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene to Rohingya Refugees and Host
Community in Cox`s Bazar and Bashan Char.
The project aims to support the Rohingya Refugees and the Host Communities living in Teknaf Upazila and facilitating their access to improved sanitation facilities, personal hygiene and hand washing facilities. It is expected that the proposed interventions in the selected host communities would bring sustained behavioral change and reduction of health risks associated with water and sanitation related diseases. Through the project expects to reach extreme vulnerable groups and to provide them with direct assistance for identified WASH needs, by coordinating with and complementing the existing WATSAN/WASH programmes of the Government of Bangladesh, DPHE, UNICEF, UPs, BDRCS, UN agencies, international NGOs and local/national NGOs working, LGIs and Upazila administration in Cox`s Bazar.
Contract Duration: 01.11.2022 to 30.09.2024 (23 months)-Possibility of extension

Job Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator the WASH Officer will be responsible and accountable for the implementation of WASH activities in the designated area of duty in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazaar district. The candidate will be places in Teknaf area (Camp 24 and Camp 27) and will have extensive travel to the project site for accomplishing his/her responsibilities.
Conduct Group discussion to community level to identify need of appropriate WASH Hardware and include inclusion.
Assist to design of WASH hardware and prepare of site list according community participation.
Assist to make construction work plan according to the project ending timeline with the management.
Daily basis construction work supervision, monitoring and give suggestions to the worker after consulting WASH program personnel. Control materials quality with the entire work quality.
Prepare construction monitoring report weekly basis and assist to compiling it.
Innovate new ideas among WASH activity to meet the need of beneficiary.
Communicate daily basis to the worker and vendors according to field findings.
Monitoring and Supervision of Water distribution activity daily basis.
Maintain water quality by water quality checking and give direction to the water distributors.
Maintain regular repair and maintenance work on various WASH hardware and lead the Repair volunteers.
Assist to make Purchase requirement to the management to ensure availability of service.
Daily supervision to cleaning activity and give direction to the cleaning volunteers. Maintain problem solving to the issues.
Daily visit to the existing hardware to find out repair and maintenance work and make repairing plan and engage the repair team.
Maintain daily various register to assist to make Monthly quantitative report of activity.
Assist and guide the volunteers for smooth functioning of the project.
Suggest new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities.
Good understand local language and fluent communication with the community would get preference.
Participate in workshops and trainings in the field of WASH but not only, in order to broaden the knowledge and share it with colleagues and beneficiaries.

Educational Requirements
University degree or Diploma in Engineering.
Additional Requirements
Age at most 42 years
03 years working experience on WASH-related program and among them at least 02 years of experience in similar position
Previous work experience in refugee camps
Previous work experience in emergency settings
Fluently spoken and written English
Skilled in computer literacy, reporting and others related documentation
Demonstrated professional credibility in the sector and experience working in an international or cross-cultural environment
Knowledge of WASH and public health and experience in practically applying this knowledge in humanitarian context
Skill on designing Hygiene promotion activities, Water points and latrines and good command in design software, Auto CAD etc.
Good computer skill is an additional qualification
Willing to travel in remote areas
Willingness to be based in the field.
Commitment to working with Humanitarian organization.

Taka up to 70,000.-Per Month.
